ELA Grammar - Subjects and Predicates

Hello SA 3!!! Today in ELA we will be reviewing subjects and predicates in sentences. Sentences are important because we use them when we're speaking, reading, and writing. Sentences are made up of subjects and predicates. The subject tells who or what the sentence is about. The predicate tells what the subject is doing and always includes a verb. After watching the video, log into today's Nearpod lesson Subjects and Predicates Code: BVGXO Look forward to seeing your great work!

European Explorers

Hello SA 3! Today we will review European Explorers. We read about famous Europeans who traveled to new lands in search of wealth, goods, and power, including Christopher Columbus and the Columbian Exchange. I look forward to your great work in your Nearpod lesson today! Nearpod Code: GBEFH Have a great day everyone!

The Vikings

Hello SA 3! Here is a video that goes with today's Social Studies Nearpod lesson - The Vikings! The Vikings were most famous for their ships! They designed them out of wood planks and made them slender, narrow and light. In theses ships, Vikings were able to travel up to about 60 nautical miles per day! For this time in history, their ships were probably the best for navigating through different bodies of water such as oceans and rivers. Enjoy your Nearpod lesson on the Vikings and I look forward to seeing all of your great work and your drawings of these famous Viking ships! Have a great day and keep up the good work, SA 3!!!!

ELA Comprehension - Cause and Effect

Good readers look for cause-and-effect relationships when reading a story. ELA Comprehension - Sequencing

Good readers pay close attention to the sequence of events in a story. Students will read along to a biography about Theodore Roosevelt in their Nearpod lesson and answer questions about the sequence of events in the order in which they happened in his life.

ELA Comprehension - Finding the Problem and Solution

Students will identify the problem and solution while rereading parts of the story Whitewater Adventure using Nearpod. Students have the option to listen to each slide read aloud by their teacher (pre-recorded) and will use the text clues to answer wh-questions about the story.
