Family and Consumer Science

 

All Family and Consumer Science Department courses have been designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to effectively make the transition to the world of work or college life. Students will have an opportunity to learn many career-oriented applications of Consumer and Family Science courses.This pathway is designed to expose students to the principles of nutrition and its relationship to the foodservice industry. Topics include personal nutrition fundamentals, weight management, exercise, nutritional adaptation/analysis of recipes/menus, healthy cooking techniques and marketing nutrition in a foodservice operation. In addition, this pathway exposes students to child /adult care.
