This Week in English 9 & 10 (January 27-31, 2020)

This week, students will explore the parts of an argumentative essay. We will utilize NearPod and notes to define and discuss "claim", "counterclaim", "evidence", and how to utilize text evidence to support our claim. Students will have the opportunity to apply their understanding of these terms when we complete a sample outline of an essay. 

This Week in English (January 21-24, 2020)

Tuesday & Wednesday: NO CLASS DUE TO REGENTS
Thursday & Friday: Finalize portfolios, finish any incomplete work
 
*Extra Credit Packets are due WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22nd!!
 
*Students will be given class time to complete any incomplete work (which must be finished by this Friday!)

Snack Shop

Due to the Regents exams, the snack shop will be CLOSED on:
 
Tuesday, January 21st
Wednesday, January 22nd 
 
Please make sure you bring in a cold lunch!

This Week in English

Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: Practicing stating a claim in an argument and supporting that claim with reasons
Thursday & Friday: Marking Period 2 portfolios
 
*Any extra credit assignments are due January 21st (those who received an email and an assignment only)
*Any missing portfolio work is due January 23rd (to be determined when completing the portfolio checklists)
 

This Week in English 9 (Jan. 6-10, 2020)

Hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break!
 
Here is what is planned for this week:
 
Monday through Wednesday will be spent reviewing for our Romeo and Juliet Act 5 test.
 
Thursday (and Friday) the students will take their test.
 
**Starting January 6th, SAP will be held every day during 10th period. There will be no homework assigned until after Regents Week!**
