This week we talked about leaves!
We had a great week talking about leaves! This week we practiced identifying the colors on leaves and sorted them. We created a sun catcher leaf for our classroom window as well as a hedgehog made out of leaves. We learned about the letters "G" and "H."
As a reminder, picture day is Friday, October 18th!
Next week we will be learning all about apples.

Good afternoon,
This week we learned about the topic, “Seasons and Weather.” We read the stories, Muppet Babies Throughout the Year and Fall Changes. We talked about the weather, clothes and activities that occur in the fall. We also sorted different clothes based on seasons. For arts and crafts, we made an acorn person. We learned about the letter “E” and “F.”
Next week we will be talking about leaves. As a reminder, we do not have school on Wednesday, October 9th.

Week of October 2nd
We hope that you had a wonderful long weekend! Happy October! We will be starting to talk all about Fall. This week, we will be talking about the season and weather changes. We will discuss what happens in the fall: it gets cooler, darker earlier, we wear different clothes, apple picking, pumpkin picking, the leaves fall/change colors and Halloween. We will practice dressing up people for the appropriate season and weather.
This week, we will be learning about the letters "E" and "F."

The week of 9/23
The children loved learning, singing and reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! We made a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree with the letters in our name as well as one with numbers. The children identified letters and numbers and placed then on a classroom Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree. We learned the letters "C" and "D."
It was so nice to meet some of you on Wednesday at Open School Night. If you were unable to attend, we sent some information home for you to read. Please let us know if you have any questions :)

Friends and Family
We loved learning all about our friends and families this week! The children loved to share the pictures of their family and make a family tree. We read the story, "The Crayon Box that Talked" and we made our very own classroom crayon box. This week, we started Fundations and learned about the letters "A" and "B." We created an alligator and bumble bee craft.
Next week, we will be focusing on the topic "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom." We will be learning all about letters and numbers. We will be celebrating Julian and Erick's birthday this week!
We look forward to seeing all of you at open school night this upcoming Wednesday!
Family and Friends Week
We are so excited to be learning about our family and friends this week! We are starting our Fundations program this week. On Monday we will be learning about the letter "A" and on Wednesday, the letter "B." A is for Apple and B is for Bat. This week, we will be reading, "The Crayon Box that Talked," as well as reviewing our shapes. We will be creating a family tree as well as a crayon box with our pictures.
If you have not already sent in the family questionnaire and pictures, please do so by tomorrow.

Good morning,
This week, we will be talking "all about me!" We will be learning how we are all different and how we all come together as friends. We are so excited to see what your child brings in for the all about me bag! We can't wait to get to know your child a little more and have them share their likes with their friends. We will be creating a "guess who I am" art project as well as a large person to represent each of them! We will be learning about the letters in our names! This week, we are going to start introducing/see what your children know as far as colors and shapes. We are excited for a great week of learning all about your child!!
If you have not already done so, please make sure to send in communication notebooks, a folder, rest time sheets/pillow, permission for reinforcers and photography.
The all about me bag is due on Wednesday!

Good afternoon,
We had a wonderful first week in our classroom! This week we adjusted to a new classroom, new teachers and new friends. We went over some of our rules and routines in the classroom. We had a chance to play with various toys in our classroom with our friends. During arts and crafts, we created a school bus, a crayon and a stand up picture of ourselves. We read some books about going back to school!
We sent your child home with a picture from their first day of school. We hope that you enjoy it and can keep it as a keepsake to remember their first day in PS4!
If you have not already returned the permission slips, please do so by Monday. Please also make sure that they come to school with communication notebooks and a folder for us to utilize throughout the school year.
Next week we will be focusing on, "All About Me!"
