We have been been hard at work learning how families around the world are different and similar to ours. If your family has traditions or customs they would like to share; PLEASE feel free to jot it down in your child’s teacher notebook. I would 💜LOVE💙 to incorporate your families customs/traditions and make those connections with the children.

We just finished reading a story called Maria Takes Brazil. We learned that her family speaks Portuguese and Maria will march in a parade so she can show off the bright costumes and culture they celebrate. People from around the world come to watch the parade and enjoy her food and culture!

(Maria did not want to march in the parade because her friend Ana invited her over. Maria’s father Pai was able to talk Maria into going to the parade. She had practiced over a year, the children made their own bright costumes to wear, and she didn’t want to let her friends down. In the end she loved marching in the parade.)
