Course Description

Students extend their perception of culture and perspective through reading eighteenth, nineteenth and early-twentieth century American literature, and complex informational texts. Composition and preparation for the Common Core English Language Arts Regents with which the course terminates is emphasized.

Macbeth Class Activity

Activity
Students are conducting a short research activity in class.
 
In class students will be researching one historical topic that is relevant to Macbeth (the text that we will be reading in class). They will they will present their findings to their class mates. All of this information will be recorded in the Background information graphic organizer on page 2 of the new Macbeth packet.

Students are also expected to define a word for each topic which will be added to the graphic organizer [skepticism (witches and witchcraft), hierarchy (The Great Chain of Being), didactic(King James I of England), equivocation (Gun Powder Plot).

The Crucible Reviewrevised

This Powerpoint has many details about several of the characters. Slide 7 contains new information about the character Reverend Hale. The end of the Powerpoint contains many words which have already been reviewed in class.

Reminder

Students must complete all portfolio work by Friday February 1. Please submit all work (especially assignments and packets that you may have at home).
