6th Grade Math Remote Learning - Week of 5/4

May the 4th be with you!

*Homeroom 13, your work is on Ms Kellegher's page

For this week in math, we’re going to use Nearpod to work with percentages by finding an unknown whole, part or percent by using proportions (cross multiplication) and division. I would also like everyone to get on to Dreambox for 30 minutes at least two times this week.

Videos of the Nearpods are below this post. Finding the whole has two parts, I had some technical difficulties while recording.

Monday - Percents: Finding the Whole

SEIFU

This Nearpod will explore find an unknown whole when given a percent and a part. Students will use proportions and cross multiplication.

Tuesday - Dreambox

https://play.dreambox.com/login/tz7d/schoolflcdm .

Please use the Dreambox app for at least 30 minutes. Activities on the Dreambox app will vary for each student. Please make sure that the sound is turned on or headphones are plugged in, as the activities will have audio directions at times, such as asking to find which math rack has more or less beads. There is also an option to turn on subtitles by pressing the speaker icon in the top right of the screen in the app.

Wednesday - Percents: Finding the Part

CKJLH

In this Nearpod, students will use proportions and cross multiplication to find an unknown part when given a whole and a percent.

Thursday - Percents: Finding the Percent

PHGIO

In this Nearpod, students will use proportions, cross multiplication and division to find an unknown percent when given a whole and a part.

Friday - Dreambox

https://play.dreambox.com/login/tz7d/schoolflcdm .

Please use the Dreambox app for at least 30 minutes. Activities on the Dreambox app will vary for each student.
