Welcome to 6th grade English!

My name is Jacklyn Perillo and I am the 6th grade English teacher. This is my fourth year working at Tiegerman. I began my journey at Tiegerman as a teacher assistant in the high school, then moved to the middle school as a teacher floater, and finally became the permanent English teacher two years ago. I attended Saint Joseph's College and majored in child study. I am certified in both, general education and special education in grades birth-6th. I am currently working towards my Master's Degree in Literacy. I am excited for this school year and to be working with your children. I look forward to meeting all of you soon!

Week 1.14-1.18

This week students will be taking a test on the story, Stray by Cynthia Rylant. On Tuesday, students will be playing a review game in preparation for their test on Wednesday, January 16th. A study guide went home with the students last week and I have attached another copy on this page. On Thursday, students will be working on identifying the parts of a business letter. Although letter writing is a lost art, it is still something students should know how to do. We will be writing a persuasive letter to the pound owner persuading him to change the conditions of his pound.
