Please make sure you are attending extra help sessions, which are held 1:00-1:30 and 1:30-2:00 daily. Please refer to the email that was sent out a couple of weeks ago for the specific times your teachers are holding their extra help sessions. If you need further assistance, please contact that teacher directly before 1:00.

Individual sessions are also available BY APPOINTMENT on a daily basis from 2:00-2:15 and 2:15-2:30. This is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Again, please email the specific teacher you would like to sign up with.

Student Engagement in Lessons

Good morning!

I just wanted to discuss with you all an important matter relating to attendance and completing lessons.

Even though students "check in" for the day, it is EXTREMELY important that your child completes the daily NearPod lessons for all their teachers. We know that this is an overwhelming task, which is why we try to be as flexible as possible in regards to a timeline for the completion of lessons.

Please keep in mind that due to our current circumstances, the student engagement on NearPod is an important factor in allowing us to provide credit for assignments and the classes. This is why you have probably been contacted by teachers regarding missing NearPod lessons.

We ask that, again, you visit the homeroom page for the daily NearPod assignments for each class. In order to see those codes, you need to go to www.tiegerman.org, go to the top where it says "Schools" and then click on the "Tiegerman High School Remote Learning" link on the drop-down menu. You will then be brought to a page where all teachers are listed, as well as all the homeroom teachers (located on the right-hand side in the blue box). These pages are updated on a weekly basis with new NearPod codes, so basically all the lessons for the week should be completed no later than Friday of that week.

I have been told that teachers also post their NearPod codes on their pages in additional posts as well, so if you are told your child is missing a lesson from a specific day, you should be able to find it on their page, especially if is a lesson from the previous week. If you have trouble finding the lesson code, please feel free to email that teacher directly.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the ELA lessons, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Thank you!

NearPod Codes

Going forward, all weekly NearPod codes will be uploaded together as a "one-stop-shop" on all of the homeroom teachers' web pages. An email had been sent out this past weekend with instructions on how to access them:

go to the "schools" link- it will open a drop-down menu
click on "Tiegerman High School Remote Learning"

You will then be taken to a page that lists all the teachers by subject. On the right-hand side, there will be a blue box that lists all of the homeroom numbers and homeroom teachers. Click on your child's homeroom teacher- it will then open a page that lists all of the teachers that homeroom has, as well as all the NearPod codes for the week.

If you have any further questions about specific classes, please feel free to email those teachers.
