Welcome to PS 5! Our classroom teachers are Mrs. Amodeo and Mrs. Kalafatic. Our classroom teacher assistants are Ms. Janine and Ms. Rumana. As a whole, we work together to create a positive learning environment for all our students! We strive to meet the needs of each individual child and help them reach their full potential. We incorporate language into every aspect of our day and help the children become more independent. We believe it is important for our students to learn through play and to learn important social skills that will help shape their lives. We have thematic units that we use to teach the NY State Common Core Standards. We will upload our weekly newsletter with some of the books, crafts and activities we will be participating in. We will also include reminders about important or upcoming events. We encourage you to talk to your child about their day! Please check our class webpage regularly for our updates. If you have any questions feel free to write to us in your child's classroom communication notebook. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting year!

Incluiremos nuestro boletín semanal con algunos de los libros, artesanías y actividades en las que participaremos. También incluiremos recordatorios sobre eventos importantes o próximos. ¡Le recomendamos que hable con su hijo sobre su día!
