English (Period HR. 13)

 Welcome back! This week in English we will be taking steps to prepare to read our new story,  Stray by Cynthia Rylant. On Wednesday, we will begin class by writing about the break. Through this do now, students will review the parts of a paragraph and regular and irregular verb tense. We will then begin to read a short biography about our author to gain some insight into her different works. On Thursday, we will be using context clues to determine the meaning of our new vocabulary words that are found in the story. On Friday, we will be focusing on the various plot elements. This will be the reading skill that we focus on as we read Stray.
