Description

Foundations of Technology Covers:

  • Basic Operations and Concepts
Students will learn and identify the main parts of the computer, use shortcuts, save files in specific files, manipulate graphics, print specific pages, open and close the computer programs and more.
  • Social, Ethical and Human Issues
Students will be able to understand and discuss internet policy and network use and demonstrate proper computer etiquette. 
  • Technology Productivity Tools
Students will be able to use correct posture, use proper finger placement on keyboards, etc.
  • Technology Communication Tools
Students will collaborate, publish, interact with peers and other audiences, use a variety of media and format to communicate information.
  • Technology Research Tools
Students will be able to open and exit presentation applications, insert and delete slides, edit layout and color scheme, develop and publish products. 
  • Technology Problem-Solving and decision Making Tools
Students will learn and be able to access and retrieve information from a variety of sources, utilize multiple search engines to locate information, determine the reliability of information, etc.

If you are looking to give back during this time and have sewing skills, all JoAnne Fabric stores are giving out the supplies to sew masks for 1st respondents.
These masks will lengthen the life of the 95 masks the nurses, doctors, paramedics, etc., are using now. 
 
You can use scarp fabric and elastic you have in your home or pick up free supplies from the stores -- call ahead and they will deliver to our car.

Start your personal letter with:

1.  Describe to me how you are feeling right now (before listening to the music).
Write at least one paragraph.
 
THEN...
 
2.  Listen to the relaxing classroom music for at least 20 minutes, close your eyes, lay down, breathe...
 
choose any of the music links
 
3. After 20 minutes of listening to the music -- Continue writing additional paragraphs in your letter.
 
* Explain to me how you feel after listening to the music.

The projects will be displayed at school to help others make choices about books they may like to read in the future.

* Students are researching and designing mini biography flyers about famous people we celebrate during Black History Month.
* Students will also be practicing typing using the home row.

Students are starting typing lessons using the home row and a blind keyboard cover. It is very difficult in the beginning but the students are learning that it gets easier the more you practice.

7th grade Students are finishing their Glyphs and moving on to 2D house design.
 
Students are using Publisher and doing research on the internet to practice mouse and keyboarding skills.
 
Students design 2D houses using geometric shapes and images from the internet. 
Students will finish by practicing public speaking skills when they present project in class.
