This course studies world history from prehistory until the mid-eighteenth century. It begins with a unot of ancient civilization and ends with "Global Absolutism." Many facets of culture are examined, including religion, geography, economics, political science, anthropology, history, sociology, and archaeology. Students explore and analyze significant historical cultural regions, specifically East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Western Europe.

On Tuesday, January 14, students will be taking a quiz on Ancient Greece. The topics of the quiz will include the city-states of Athens and Sparta and will also focus on the Golden Age of Greece (aka The Age of Pericles). The quiz will consist of ten questions--eight being multiple choice, two being document based questions. This will be the final assessment grade for the quarter.
