Welcome to Living Environment class! I have been teaching here at Tiegerman for the past 6 years, and am excited for another school year! Living Environment covers and reviews the fundamental principles of biology. It is a 1.5 year course, ultimately preparing students to take the regents in January of 10th grade. We will cover the following topics in Living Environment:
- Intro to Biology/Scientific Method

- Human Impact on Environment

- Cell Division
- Genetics
- DNA/DNA Replication
- Evolution

Genetics Superhero Project - due November 25, 2019
Students will create their own original superhero and describe how its superpowers help Earth/people. THEIR SUPERHERO MAY NOT BE BASED OFF OF AN ALREADY CREATED SUPERHERO! They must fill out the attached packet and create a poster or powerpoint (posterboard will be provided if needed)
Students have the option of drawing their superhero in the packet, or creating their superhero on the website http://www.heromachine.com/heromachine-3-lab/ (needs adobe flash).
Project is due November 25, 2019. Project is to be completed at home or during homework period. NO CLASS TIME WILL BE GIVEN. Projects will be presented in class Nov 25 - Nov 27.
